Hello

Keeping Kids Safe at Soccer Mates ⚽️

At Soccer Mates, every child’s safety and wellbeing come first.

We are committed to creating a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where children can grow in confidence, build friendships, and learn through play.

We believe that children and young people have the right to feel safe, respected, and valued — at all

💚 Our Commitment

  • We keep all children and young people safe from harm.
  • We listen if someone feels worried or unsafe.
  • We treat everyone with kindness and respect.
  • We create a positive, inclusive, and fun environment.
  • We support our young coaches (aged 15–22) with training, guidance, and supervision.

🧒 Who Looks After You

  • All Soccer Mates coaches and mentors hold a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Young coaches always work alongside an experienced adult mentor.
  • All staff complete child-safety and safeguarding training.
  • We make sure children are always supervised — never left alone with one adult.

🚫 What’s Not OK

It’s never OK for anyone to:

  • Hurt someone with words or actions
  • Touch a child in a way that makes them uncomfortable
  • Ask a child to keep a secret
  • Send private messages or photos
  • Give children alcohol, tobacco, or drugs

If anything like this ever happens, we want you to speak up.

🗣 If You Feel Unsafe

If you ever feel worried, sad, or unsure — please talk to us.

You can speak to your coach, mentor, or a trusted adult.

Or contact us directly:

🌟 Families Can Help Too

Parents and carers can help by:

  • Talking regularly with your child about their sessions
  • Encouraging open conversations about safety and respect
  • Letting us know if you have any concerns — big or small

Together, we can make Soccer Mates a safe, fun, and welcoming community for everyone.
